Pros: 1. Inexpensive for reasonably good durability - there are sub-10$ kits with toy-like combs! 2. Easy cleaning of the blades - secret: use a vacuum cleaner on the sides - that unused attachment you have been saving just for this purpose! 3. Easy to do the front and head-sides yourself! 4. The turbo mode is more powerful, but I have found better cutting with slow, steady strokes in the normal ON mode. 5. Savings - NOT thousands or hundreds of dollars for me. I used to go to a saloon every 2 months, now I need to go just twice a year for the mandatory professional sculpting (once every 3 times of self cutting). Around [...] bucks in savings per year for me. Cons: 1. Wired - but were you expecting a rechargeable cordless at this price? 2. Not advisable to try doing the back of the head yourself. You will need someone for 5 minutes to do the back and for getting a uniform neckline. If you want a pure-self-cut-kit and short hair, get the Remington Short Cut Rechargeable Clipper - self cuts everywhere beautifully. 3. Don't expect professional cuts if you are the not-so-patient type or have real dense hair. I have moderately-dense, 1.5 inch hair that I trim down to 0.5 inches and this Conair is perfect for me. 4. You will need to take off the blades for cleaning about every 3 times of cutting. It is simple to oil, realign and put back the blades.

I have used this clipper very few times. Every time I needed to change an attachment comb it was very difficult to snap it in place. A couple of times it would just not work. The last time, the clipper came apart, and I have not been able to put it back together. I guess you get what you pay for . . . awful!

We have used these clippers four times now and have had no problems, we never had to use the turbo mode and the attachments are great. And most importantly the clippers are reasonably quite, just a soft hum. A great value!

i used reminghton,wahl and many other random brands to get a army hair cut.They had fancy design but output wasn`t much.I always saw this trimmer at my barber place but never knew its name or brand.once i start using it i felt its the same trimmer used by barber so i inquired her on my next visit and been told they use same brand and are quite heavy duty and highly recommened.so if you want professional looking hair cut, its the brand to pick.Free Trimmer that comes along with it is excellant and perfect for french cut along with shaping beard.All trimmer need is a single AA battery. There are other conair brands too .They differ in size,color,packing .All are basically same with different pieces to get different hair lenght of hair cut.

It is a great hair cutter for this price. Do not expect miracles, but it defnitely will cut your hair, Comes with many useful accessories like scissors, comb etc.

Works well. I'm cutting my husband's hair with it. The instructions help on where to begin cutting and move around the head. Lots of different attachments for as long or short as you want the hair.

Nothing to complain about. I wanted a high powered trimmer for cheap and that's what I got. It is quite noisy and the attached "trimmer" is worthless, but the clips are a good range of sizes (even the lowest setting isn't quite low enough, but it's fine) the cord is long enough and it does its job. It does get hot too but that is expected. Overall this product did nothing to WOW me, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do, nothing more nothing less..

This is my first pair of clippers, but they were easy to figure out and easy to use. I buzzed my husband's hair right off! :-)

I am satisfied with this product. The price is reasonable in relation to the type of material (plastic). Temperature can increase with use. I think it is perfect for use at home. Wahl 79900B Clip-N-Trim 23-Piece Complete Haircut Kit

I only need a few things in a hair cutting kit and the Wahl 799900B does them all incredibly well, plus some: 1. Size 1, 2 and 3 combs made of flexible, durable plastic that fit the machine securely. 5 stars. 2. Fast cutting speed. My Conair Champion makes me do many passes over the same area to cut the hair to the level I want. The Wahl cuts more hair per pass so I finish the job much faster. 5 BIG stars. 3. A machine I can hold and maneuver comfortably that is not too noisy. The Wahl, like the Conair, is not quiet. But I don't find either too noisy either. 5 stars. 4. Combs and scissors that work well. The combs are flexible and shaped just right. The scissors are sharp. I have to mention this because I can't say the same for my Conair kit's scissors. 5 stars. The extras: 1. Detailing attachment. It has a unique flip out attachment that can be used to trim the hairline and give that perfect, finished look. I especially like this feature because it extends from the machine and makes it easier to reach difficult areas like behind my head when I'm cutting my own hair. 2. Hair cutting video. Doesn't come with the kit but the Wahl website describes how to use the machine to do various cuts. 3. Barber cape. 4. Small, compact kit. The only thing I would like better would be a bigger brush. The supplied brush is small - only as wide as my pinky finger - and takes more time to clean the machine. The Conair came with a much bigger brush - almost as wide as my hand - so I use that one to clean my Wahl. This is however not enough for me to deduct a star.

I use this trimmer only once a week but I love it. I trims really well. It cuts close on my neck. The price is great. I recommend this trimmer. And the nose trimmer works great.

I placed a new battery in turned it on and it worked for 5 minutes made a noise and has not worked since. Very disappointed but would cost more to send it back that the product is worth! Larry Goddard

OK, I'm aware that this is a $12 product and you get what you pay for.. However, I just saw the trimmer I had before this one, a basic Philips Norelco product, for $20 at Target and I used it for 2-3 years w/o any problems! I can't explain how unsatisfied I am with this Wahl product.. I really think it costs them $1 to make this item.. My face still hurts after a painful trimming.. The blades feel like they've been made with the cheapest steel from an old clunker in China.. They smell like they're burning. I don't have a sensitive skin, but there are red spots allover due to the cheap material. And, it is very loud and too fast. As a very wise English person once said "I am not rich enough to buy cheap things" -- I wish I listened to him instead of Amazon.com reviews..

better than my previous trimmer by far. right length cutter heads which my other did not have, at 3 times the price. This in my opinion is a true value. Vendor was great with fair postage and a very low price.

After reading some of the reviews, I was skeptical about ordering this. I am glad I did. First, you have to remember that this is a beard TRIMMER! Not a shaver. It's not going to get as close as a blade and isnt meant to. That said, for the job it is suppose to do, it does excellent. I have been using mine for close to a month now almost daily, and the batteries are still going strong, the blade is still sharp, and even the nose hair trimmer is working great. The speed at which the trimmer operates really surprised me and I would easily compare it to a plug in model. I say order it and try it out. If you dont like it, you can always return it. I will be keeping mine.

I purchased this to replace my old 5 series which I had for a couple years and really liked it but the battery lost its life. I chose this model because I didn't want to pay for the more expensive models. I have been using this for a couple of weeks now. I like the battery life indicator feature as well as the ability to wash it w/ water. The closeness of shave does not seem to match my previous models, but does a pretty good job nonetheles. The shaver itself has a nice solid feel and overall I am pleased with my purchase.

I bought this shaver for my boyfriend as an upgrade from his previous Braun that was starting to die on him. The last one served a very long life but was no longer doing it's job. He loves the new one. It's easy to clean, shaves in fewer strokes than the last one did when it was new and holds a charge much longer than it's predecessor...which is great for a guy on the go.

Excellent Razor for a bearded senior. Wish I did not have to pay shipping charge as it brought the price in line with local store price.

I bought both the model 370 and 550 close together. Now that three plus months have gone by, I would definitely NOT recommend the model 370 and ony conditionally the model 550. The 550 is over-priced, while neither model gives a close shave compared to the Norelco quadra head I bought more than a year ago. I end up using the Norelco to finish up after the Brauns. I am unable to get a reasonably close shave with the model 370 and just barely with the model 550. I suspect the heads clog up with whisters as you shave and this affects the shave. I wanted to try a Braun after years of using a Norelco or Panasonic(a joke). I will stick with the Norelcos and consign the Brauns to the dresser drawer as a bad choice and a waste of money. Spend a little more and buy a good Norelco. Your face will thank you for it.

In spite of what they say, it does not do well on my curly beard, especially if several days old. Not as good as the rotary type ones. Other that that, a very nice razor.
